A Motivating Force
Having the right coach is critical to your success as an athlete. They should get to know you as a person, customize your training schedule to ensure it is achievable, factor on lifestyle and race schedule, understand what it takes to achieve your goals and have the experience to get you there.
Knowing you have a coach to schedule all of your workouts, bounce ideas off, ask questions, interpret your training data and set you up for race day is hugely beneficial. Your coach is also a motivating factor, there is nothing better than being accountable to someone when it comes to those days where your willpower falters!
